After a long 28 km trek, the atmosphere instantly felt like home, and the welcoming host, Lawrence, was a delight. The communal dinner, while vegetarian for €12, provided a perfect opportunity to mingle with fellow travelers-a rare treat considering the limited options nearby. The room was comfortable, featuring engaging decor and a beautiful view of the garden, albeit a bit on the wild side. The shared kitchen was well-stocked, allowing for some self-catering if needed, ensuring guests have what they require without the hassle of searching for nearby shops-especially after a trek. Access to laundry facilities proved practical, and the foot massage machine was a savior after a day of hiking. A significant highlight was the magical sunsets from the patio, complemented by a cozy sitting area for relaxation. Casa Gwendoline strikes a balance between affordability and comfort that can appeal to the budget-conscious traveler like myself. It may not boast lavish amenities, but the attentive details certainly make it worthwhile.
